Recycling Craft Presentation at the South Pasadena Moon Festival

The Oriental Fusion Handcraft had the opportunity to participate in the South Pasadena Moon Festival on Sept 27th, where we set up a booth so that everyone could experience the handcraft. Immediately after the gate opened at 2pm, many people swamped the booth. There were even people in a waiting line while observing the others making the craft. Many of the participants have agreed with the them of the handcraft: "Let's do something good for the society while having fun!" It was certainly good news for us to see that there were many people interested in participating in our activity in the future!

Fun and Cute Recycle Activities Expanding

The Oriental Fusion Handcraft, Reiyukai America’s social and cultural activity, is growing!

 On Saturday, July 12, Reiyukai America hosted a Handcraft workshop at the Teen’s room at the Pasadena City Library. Teens and grown ups were constantly making the baskets throughout our 2 hour event. All the participants were amazed at how a milk carton turned into a cute little basket. Each participant enjoyed the recycling while they supported the efforts of each other!

 On Thursday, August 14, a promotional recycling workshop was held in a senior apartment in the City of South Pasadena. Because they enjoyed making a recycled craft so much, we have decided to have a workshop there periodically.

 Also the recycling activity was presented in ESL classes in an adult school on several occasions, so it brought more opportunities to know the activity to a lot more people!
