The OFH is going to be at the Pacific Media Expo 2012 on Friday and Saturday, November 9th & 10th! This expo gathers and celebrates the best of entertainment from the pacific region. Come join us for our workshop to make your very own Artistic Designer Bag.

Reiyukai America will host a free craft workshop at the Pasadena Public Library from 6 to 9pm on Friday October 12, 2012 and invites everyone to make a "Moon Rock Bag" using recycling materials!

Thank you for all of your patience, the wait is finally over! The Oriental Fusion Handcraft is proud to present our 4 winners of the “Flower” Milk Carton Design Competition 2012!!! Congratulations to the 4 winners, we’ll see all of you again for the next competition!

Here are the winners...

Brightest Innovation Award - Gabriela Martínez Hernández (Mexico)

Becoming the light that cuts away the darkness, the designer infused the warmth from her spirit into the design of this craft. This breathtaking light element attracts everyone to feel the recycling spirit deep within their soul. The Brightest Innovation Award not only shows the skill of utilizing new techniques, but also brings us the inspiration that changes our lives forever.

Outstanding Craftsmanship Award - Luisa Basurto Morales (Mexico)

Extraordinary use of skill and design, it is not surprising why this designer received international acclaim. With her deep understanding of styling, cuts and folds, this flower within a flower within a flower design, intrigues us to proudly give this piece the Outstanding Craftsmanship Award. Seeing this design makes us want to start sewing as a hobby again.

Magnificent Milk Carton Merit Award - Yukie Partos (United States)

Utilizing the unique qualities that the milk carton material provides us, the designer created this water holding vase from a single milk carton. The design incorporated natural folds with simple cuts to bring us the essence of the natural milk carton. The Magnificent Milk Carton Merit Award is given for retaining the aura of the original milk carton while being forged into this elegant flower design.

Daily Inspiration Award - Sonia Delgado (United States)

Practical, Beautiful, Creative. This design receives the Daily Inspirational Award due to its design elements and functionality in many applications. The idea of using a recycled craft for daily use in a restaurant, senior center, or daycare center really inspires others to remind them about recycling. The handmade element also shows personal care through the thoughtfulness needed to transform things. This piece is a direct example of what we here at the Oriental Fusion Handcraft Workshop try to promote!

It's official!   The voting for the "Flower" 2012 Milk Carton Design Competition is now closed.  We are now in the process of tallying the votes on Facebook, Picasa and as well as our walk-in votes, so stay tuned and find out the winner!

The voting for the contest is now open from August 30th till September 18th. We’ve got a lot of beautiful amazing submissions that we know you’ll surely love. So how can you get started to vote and join in on all the fun?

2.     Locate the Photo Album for our contest, “"Flower" 2012 Milk Carton Design Competition”

3.     Then click “Like” on your favorite crafts! (Limited voting on your Two Favorite Crafts Only)

Note: People that vote on more than two crafts will have their votes omitted from the contest.  Adding “Like” on both pictures for a single craft, will result in only one vote towards the craft. (Please keep all “Likes” on the first picture.)

As of July 29th, 2012 we have offically closed to accept any more crafts to enter the contest.  We have recieved a lot of beautiful entries and we thank you for your participation.

We are now in the proccess in creating the opportunity for voting.

We were able to introduce the activities that we promote to the community of Monterey Park and we were thrilled to meed new friends who were interested in experiencing the wonderful world of recycling crafts!

Pasadena Earth and Arts Festival 2012

Reiyukai America's Oriental Fusion Handcraft -Recycling Workshop was thrilled to be at the Pasadena Earth and Arts Festival, which was held on Saturday April 14, 2012. We would like to thank the City of Pasadena for having us again at the event!

The Pasadena Memorial Park was ready to welcome the guests under a beautiful weather after the storm from the night before. Great musical and dance performances decorated the stage and participants enjoyed all kind of ideas regarding the environment celebrating the Earth Day!

During the event, we have organized a free workshop where people can make a Petite Tote Bag recycled from milk cartons. Also our guests enjoyed watching our display of our craft collections. We were collecting donations to raise money to support the people in Japan who are still suffering even one year after the earthquake and tsunami. We would like to thank those who became part of the support!
